概要 For the use of fluorochemicals with high sustainability, waste treatment techniques will have to be established for them. We investigated the decomposition of 3-hydroxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)propanoic acid (MAF-OH), a building block for many fluorinated materials, in subcritical water. The result shows that the CF3 group in MAF-OH can be efficiently mineralized to fluoride ions without any formation of environmentally undesirable species.
