概要 | Today, in Japan, various museums and collections have preserved a certain number of silk textiles that were made with threads of precious metal, such as silver and gold and have been ascribed to Iranian or Indian production from the 17th to the 19th century. Through the analysis of Iranian or Indian silk textiles in Japanese collections, paralleled with examples in European collections, this paper discusses a distinctive group among these, which shows great skill in terms of technique with highly sophisticated designs, made specifically for the Safavid court. |
