概要 | Novels are products of long-form narrative fiction, a domain-specific type of creative writing. The novel is as much commercial product as aesthetic object, as much the result of technological development as of cultural change. This entry presents an overview of the novel and how it informs a creativity understanding of domain, authors, and field. Literature about the novel is diverse, coming from historians, philosophers, psychologists, creativity researchers, literary critics, literary agents, writing teachers, and novelists themselves. This entry considers narrative form, representational rendering, manuscript development, and the role of emotion. The historical influence of women authors is discussed. |
