概要 | Makeup cleansers, designed to remove oil-based makeup from the skin to make it ready to apply skincare products, do not always satisfy every user due to the unfavorable skin feeling and safety concerns of a high concentration of surfactants and oils. The objective here is to create a water-based cleansing lotion with a significantly low amount of surfactant to reduce skin impact while retaining good cleansing ability. Here we found this WIII-ME as Formula X capable of solubilizing makeup oil spontaneously and investigated the mechanism of its high cleansing ability. When Formula X encountered makeup oil, the water channel spontaneously penetrated the makeup oil to form a W/O emulsion. A dynamic change followed by coalescence of droplets eventually merged back to the WIII-ME, with the accompanying makeup oil sucked in. Thus, Formula X with less surfactant showed an excellent cleansing ability without damaging the skin. |
