概要 | The flow of water and air in sanitary fixtures and drainage pipes has been analyzed mostly by full-scale experiments because model rules are difficult to apply. Further knowledge is required for optimizing the design of drainage systems, and, in addition to analyses by experiments, analyses by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations are expected to play an important role. Thus far, such CFD simulations have been carried out using the particle-based method and the volume of fluid (VOF) method; however, further studies are necessary to attain the optimal design. In this study, we examine the feasibility of analysis by the VOF method. Although the use of free software is desirable, the analysis in the present study is conducted using the commercial software scFLOW. The calculation method is outlined, the calculation of simple drainage systems is performed, and the mesh arrangement, calculation results, and calculation time are reported. |
