概要 | A film of poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) in which an alkali metal halide was dissolved homogeneously was exposed to carbon dioxide. The film rapidly absorbed carbon dioxide to afford a corresponding polymer bearing 5-membered cyclic carbonate group (PDOMA). Although this solid state-polymer reaction proceeded along with a corresponding polymer reaction in soln., side reactions including crosslinking were accompanied. Since these side reactions were accelerated by using a more active catalyst, the highest incorporation of carbon dioxide was achieved by using a moderately active catalyst. It can be concluded that this solid-state polymer reaction was characterized by 2 factors: crosslinking by the reaction of alkoxide and epoxide and the acceleration of bi-mol. reactions. |
