概要 | Owing to their high chemical and thermal stability, fluoropolymers are used in industrial equipment. Poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) is the most frequently used fluoropolymer. Poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) is the most frequently used fluoropolymer. However, PTFE cannot be processed by melt molding. To overcome this weakness, ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE) has been introduced in industry. Herein, we report on the decomposition of ETFE in subcritical water, and present an effective method for complete mineralization of the polymer, by use of potassium permanganate |
