| 概要 | Amid growing gender-theoretical studies of the early twentieth-century avant-garde, this paper focuses on Viennese Kineticism (c.1920-1924) and examines how My Ullmann and Erika G. Klien challenged conventional gender images. Influenced by contemporary arts such as modern dance, they reconfigured the body through geometric and mechanical forms, exploring new modes of expression. The study concludes that both artists saw themselves as a new generation of women and sought representations of the body free from the male gaze, making their work a form of artistic empowerment. |
