概要 Tourism plays a vital role in Japan's regional development, with large-scale events like the 2025 Osaka World Expo expected to boost inbound tourism. Residents' support, including those from non-host cities, is crucial yet under-researched. This study surveyed 1600 residents from four prefectures to examine their attitudes. Interest and support were generally higher in host cities (Osaka, Wakayama) than in non-host cities (Tokyo, Miyagi). While many recognised potential economic and tourism benefits, concerns included overtourism and inflation. The findings highlight regional differences and underscore the importance of continued, longitudinal research to track evolving public perceptions before the event.
