概要	This presentation investigates how touch and gaze are mobilized in directive and assessment sequences to orient a novice to competent ways of working at the potter's wheel. Interaction between a potter and his pupil is shown to be organized in ways that highlight specific points of articulation and characteristics of the clay that must be tactilely monitored throughout the process of throwing a pot on the wheel. The syntactic and temporal organization of the directive and assessment sequences is also shown to promote coordinated enactments facilitative to socialization of techniques of the body.
