概要 Fluoropolymers are used in industrial equipment to impact corrosion resistance because they show high resistance to temperature, chemicals and so forth, owing to their high thermal and chemical stability. Wider use of fluoropolymers will need the establishment of waste treatment. We report herein an effective method for mineralization of PVDF to F– and inorganic carbon component (CO2 and HCO3–) using subcritical water in the presence of potassium permanganate (KMnO4). The reaction temperature that required for complete mineralization becomes considerably lower than that for the reaction by use of hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant.
